Christmas is a great time of the year to reflect on the past year and formulate plans for the year ahead.
Let’s think about twelve months’ time. Where do you want to be in twelve months? Write down how you want your business/life to look this time next year. My suggestion is to take those undone tasks from this year and assess whether or not they will help you achieve your goals over the next year. Make a list of all the tasks you think need doing to achieve your new goals. Now from that list identify the three things that will make the biggest difference to your business/life. Completing those three things probably represents 80% of achieving your goals for the year. So they are now your strategic objectives for the year.
The next step is to look at each of those three strategies individually and identify what actions need to occur to implement them. Write each action down for each strategy and then cull them back to the most important three or four. That means you will have a total of between nine and twelve actions that have to be completed. Assign each of those actions to someone in your team and set a deadline. Your job is to ensure that each of the actions is completed in full on time. Use a one page plan to display all your actions on a single page – this video explains it nicely – https://player.vimeo.com/video/87620651
You get the picture – we are well on our way to implementing our strategies.
THE PLAN BECOMES YOUR ROADMAP TO WHERE YOU WANT TO BE
Complete the actions and you will be well on your way to achieving your goals for the year.
How much better will you feel at this time next year if you have achieved everything you set out to achieve and you can easily identify the progress you have made?
Our wish is for you all to have a happy and safe Christmas.
The New Year beckons and it holds all the possibilities you can imagine. Embrace it, live it and enjoy it.
Best Wishes
